The study “Acupuncture in the Treatment of Gulf War Illness” is still recruiting subjects in the Massachusetts area.
The treatments have been well-received by the veterans. Most study subjects reported that they are confident that the treatments will help and that their experience of the acupuncture treatments and the practitioners are positive.
Participants in the study receive at least 4 months of acupuncture, and participants can choose a practitioner near work or home.
This study is funded by the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP, U.S. Department of Defense) and will be recruiting through April 2012.
